Heinz Kohut The Question of Drive Psychology and Some Thoughts on Technique
Heinz Kohut: The Question of Drive Psychology and Some Thoughts on Technique. January 17, 1975 [restored audio] Institute faculty member Heinz Kohut delivered this lecture during an informal session with advanced students. This is one of 25 such lectures transcribed and published in book form in “Heinz Kohut: The Chicago Institute Lectures,” edited by fellow faculty members Paul Tolpin and Marian Tolpin. The preface to the book relates the situation surrounding this lecture series and the decision to publish them in book form. The series began in 1972, shortly after the publication of “The Analysis of the Self,” and ended in 1976, just before the publication of “The Restoration of the Self.” Kohut read several of the transcriptions made by Paul Tolpin and agreed that they might make a useful teaching device. We hope that the original audio recordings, carefully restored here by Institute fellow Chace Wall, will be equally useful to the analytic students of today. “Heinz Kohut: The Chicago Institute Lectures” is available on Amazon at the following link: https://www.amazon.com/Heinz-Kohut-Ch...
