How to Attach Elastic Shock Cord to Kevlar in a Model Rocket

http://www.ApogeeRockets.com - Some model rocket kits have both a Kevlar shock cord, and an elastic (or rubber) cord. The reason for this is to get some of the advantages of each material. You get the heat resistance and durability from the Kevlar cord, where it is needed most - where it is attached by the engine mount. And then you get the shock absorbtion capabilities from the elastic cord. But it is important that the Kevlar cord doesn't project out of the tube, or there is a higher chance of getting a zippered tube. In this video, we'll cover the process of installing the Kevlar shock chord and how to keep its length inside the tube. You'll also see how to attach the elastic cord to the loop on the Kevlar cord that is now inside of the tube.
