We found a small food spot near Nenmara that surprised us with its flavours, ambience, and dishes that instantly reminded us of our Madurai food trips. We were in Nenmara for more food hunt videos with our friend Nikhil. After our toddy shop experience in Kollengode, he took us to Kari Virunthu, a restaurant located around 10 minutes from Nenmara towards Kollengode. Surrounded by beautiful paddy fields, the location itself was worth the visit before we even tasted the food. The restaurant offers a Tamil Nadu street food experience in Kerala with flavours that closely resemble what we enjoyed from the famous roadside eateries of Madurai. We tried Madurai Bun Parotta, Kothu Parotta, Tomato Oothappam, Kalakki Omelette, Mutton Thala Curry, Chicken Curry, Chicken 65, Beef Curry and Kerala Parotta. The Kalakki and Mutton Thala Curry were outstanding, while the Madurai Bun Parotta was one of the biggest highlights of the meal.
