Freight Trane in 12 keys
Just practicing the bird-blues "Freight Trane" by Tommy Flanagan. Transposing a melody is a great exercise. A melody is finite and literally "forces your hand" as a player: You have a finite set of instructions (the melody) to negotiate through different keys. Soloing in all 12 keys is good- but playing the melody is better!
