G. Loomis IMX PRO Salmon Trolling Rods [New For 2026]

A look at the G. Loomis IMX-PRO Salmon Trolling Rods. These are new for 2026 and comes in three lengths: IMX-PRO 1084-2C SATR [9'] IMX-PRO 1174-2C SATR [9'9"] IMX-PRO 1264-2C SATR [10'6"] All three are rated 2-8 oz Lure Weights, 10-40 lb Test (Mono) and are Heavy Power With Moderate Actions. All are also two piece rods. The Carbon Weave handle is really something. It has a grippy texture to it which will feel secure under the often wet conditions the salmon angler encounters while trolling. The rod will handle the often heavy weights used while dragging 360 flashers. It has a moderate tip that will let the flasher do it's thing but a powerful backbone to drive the hooks home when the fish striles. This rod will prove itself powerful enough to handle every salmon it crosses paths with. You need to get that fish to the boat in short order in the often crowed trolling lanes. This is the rod to do it best. In this video I pair the rod with a Shimano Tekota 401HGLCA line counter reel (Left Hand Crank) that is loaded with PowerPro Super 8 Slick, 50lb test in the Marine Blue Color. This line has proven itself to me over the last three seasons. It has only slightly faded and I have not experienced any failures in the line itself or the knots. Good stuff!
