Flamenco has been designated an UNESCO intangible heritage treasure. With a long and rich history, Flamenco is beloved by many people around the world. But what is flamenco? Flamenco is an aesthetic that covers dance, music and dance. Traditionally, the guitarist accompanies a singer & a dancer. Where did Flamenco originate? The history of flamenco is tied into the history of Andalucia. Flamenco origin dates back to the rich culture of the peoples in Andalucia - Jews, Moors and Gitanos. Their traditional rhythms mixed with the rhythms of Africans brought as slaves to be sent onward to the Americas, and other rhythms found in the New World.
