Sepsis, and Managing respiratory viral infections

Sepsis Using the HealthPathways sepsis screening and action pathway in primary and urgent care, the New Zealand Sepsis Trust, Health Pathways, and the Health Quality and Safety Commission have developed a unified sepsis pathway for use across the spectrum of acute care in Aotearoa New Zealand. Using worked examples, some submitted by GP colleagues, Paul Huggan explains how the pathway operates to improve patient outcomes. Managing respiratory viral infections Tim Cutfield, Infectious diseases physician, will provide a practical update on the management of common respiratory viral infections in primary care, with a focus on influenza and COVID-19. He will cover current guidance on when antiviral treatment is indicated, and how vaccination fits into prevention and risk reduction. The webinar will align with current guidance and support clinicians to make confident, evidence-based treatment decisions in everyday practice. General updates with Sue Tutty.
