When he approached us about collaborating on a design, we jumped at the opportunity. The result is the Jackstone, reflecting Aaron’s passion for the traditional Canadian belt knife. Its lightweight build and utilitarian shape make the Jackstone ideal for multi-day backcountry trips. The distinct leaf-shaped blade provides enough belly for skinning while maintaining a super strong tip capable of more demanding tasks. Its rounded, ergonomic handle is optimized for comfort and control. At just 3.5 oz, the Jackstone is virtually unnoticeable when attached to your pack. We’re honored to add the Jackstone to the Montana Knife Company family. This collaboration reflects our commitment to creating blades as unique and rugged as the people who carry them. Rugged Heritage. Advanced Performance. The Jackstone takes its name from the Canadian mountain range where Aron Snyder field tested the initial design. After using the prototype on a bighorn sheep, we chose to call it the Jackstone — commemorating the knife's rugged backcountry origins. The Jackstone’s unique styling reflects a classic Canadian belt knife passed down to Aron years ago. He was drawn to the uncommon leaf-shaped blade, which provides exceptional strength and ample belly for detailed work. We’re honored Aron trusted us to reimagine this uncommon legacy design. While paying homage to the past, we updated the classic belt knife design with several modern enhancements: Premium MagnaCut stainless steel — achieves remarkable edge retention and corrosion resistance without compromising ease of sharpening. Integrated finger guard — prevents accidental slips for confident control. Jimping along the spine — extra grip security during strenuous cutting and carving.
