Brain Makes Music | Full Premiere Event & Documentary Screening
The premiere of Brain Makes Music was held on Tuesday, June 9, at the Nehru Centre Auditorium, Mumbai. The evening brought together music, medicine, and meaningful conversations, beginning with a flute recital by Pandit Nityanand Haldipur and team, followed by insights from Dr. Ashit Sheth and a special talk on Medicine & Music by Chief Guest Dr. Farokh Udwadia. The event concluded with the premiere screening of the documentary, creating a thoughtful space to experience the connection between music, healing, and the human mind. A documentary on music and the human mind how rhythm, melody and sound shape the brain, bind communities, and heal the body. In this episode, Dr. Ashit Sheth, psychiatrist of fifty years, traces music from its evolutionary origins to its role in modern neuroscience and music therapy. Drawing on five decades of clinical practice, Dr. Sheth explains how music acts on every region of the brain from the limbic system's emotional core to the cerebellum's role as an inner timekeeper and why it remains one of the most powerful non-pharmacological tools in clinical psychiatry.
