Charles Manson's time in Los Angeles during the 1950s is often overlooked: His much more famous era in Los Angeles of course was during the late 1960s. With that said however, his time in LA during the 50s was still quite important for a variety of reasons. Over a decade before the Sharon Tate - LaBianca murders, Manson was already roaming the streets of LA. As a matter of fact, Manson met his wife Leona Stevens, aka Candy / Sandy, in 1950s Los Angeles. In this mini documentary video I'll be exploring the history of their relationship, Manson's history in Los Angeles, the prostitution ring Manson ran in LA during the 50s & more - including Manson's alleged escape to Mexico. I'll also be taking a look at Manson's history in other parts of California, including San Francisco: In 1967, Charles Manson moved to the Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco - The epicentre of the hippie movement. Particularly during the summer of 1967 (aka the summer of love) Haight Ashbury was flooded with hippies from across the world. These hippies would often experiment with drugs. Many believe this rampant drug use in Haight Ashbury was exploited and even perpetuated to an extent by the CIA, a dark wide scale experiment for the MK ULTRA program. At the centre of this theory is the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic. Many people believe Charles Manson was a CIA asset. More specifically, that he was part of the CIA’s MK Ultra program: MK Ultra experimented with LSD extensively in mind control experiments. LSD was a major factor in the Manson family: Charles Manson’s control over his followers had a lot to do with acid (LSD). He would frequently give his followers LSD. Then while his followers were under the influence, Manson would repeatedly suggest things to them, over and over again. This method of brainwashing people by LSD and repeated suggestions, was studied by the CIA. In other words, Manson’s LSD brainwashing techniques were the same as the CIA’s - One of several reasons many believe Manson was in fact a CIA asset - More specifically, that he was part of the CIA’s MK Ultra program.
