He refuses to join his mentor, Professor Frederik "Freddie" Shaffer, in a relic hunt, believing the poem to be a coded treasure map, until his friend is murdered in an attempt to steal the tablet. The obvious suspect is Syrian artifact dealer Ali, so Jack flies to Damascus. There, he must agree to work with a local colleague, the US-educated Nadia, and her driver, Tariq. During the long journey to find the relics, their lives are threatened, not only by their common enemy, Albert Littman, but another mystery lurks. Reviews: I hadn't seen Ivan S. since he appeared in an episode of "Burden of Proof," and I was surprised and pleased to see how much his acting skills have improved since "Crossing Jordan." Watching the "Jack Hunter" trilogy, I was even more pleased and thoroughly entertained. Hats off to the entire cast and the beauty of the Middle East we were shown. I wouldn't even compare it to "Indiana Jones," because that work speaks for itself.
