Putting Ginger Into The Cart
Demonstration of how to put a paralyzed German Shepherd dog into an Eddie's Wheels counterbalanced cart with outrigger wheels. This video was just taken an hour ago, at 6 pm, April 7, 2012 It has been exactly one year since Ginger has been down (unable to stand up or walk). The vet believes she has degenerative myelopathy. Her front legs are now very weak as well, and her front paws are knuckling when I support her back end and try to make her take steps; oftentimes she falls and gets scared, so we have to be careful. I have been putting her into the cart since Sept. 2011 but it's only recently that she has learned how to walk in it. She loves the freedom it gives her. So if your dog doesn't take to the cart right away, don't give up. It took us 6 months, but WE DID IT! :) Ginger just turned 13 last month and considering her handicap + her age, she's doing great. I love this dog!
