Dragon Quest VI - Mortamor (Final Boss)

A three-phase final battle against the archfiend. First phase has Mortamor using mostly magic attacks. I recommend setting up Magic Barrier to mitigate the damage for this phase. Buffs do stay between phases, so I recommend getting as many buffs up as you can in phase one, so you don't have to worry about it in phase two and three. Mortamor does have Disruptive Wave to dispel your buffs, but I rarely see him use it in phase 1 or 2. Second phase is probably the easiest phase in my opinion. Mostly because Mortamor likes using buffs and debuffs which are basically free turns. If you have Disruptive Wave yourself, you can remove those buffs and have him waste more turns reapplying them. He does have a fire breath attack during this phase, so use Insulatle if you have it. Third and final phase is the hardest phase. Mortamor comes with two hands that will beat the shit out of you if you don't take care of them quickly. Take out the left hand first because it has Kazing to revive the other hand for full HP. The right hand has Zing to revive the other hand half the time for half the HP. Unless you get unlucky with Zing working, then you would want to kill the hands at roughly the same time. The head mostly uses magic and breath attacks, so Insulatle and Magic Barrier will help a lot. The hands use physical attacks. The head also really likes using Disruptive Wave a lot, so be prepared to reapply your buffs. But once both hands are down, then you should have a relatively smooth time finishing the fight. The hands are the biggest obstacle. This is the Nintendo DS version of the game. Playlist:    • Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
