Spending the weekend at the Abbey Medieval Festival 2024

I'm back! I am having another crack at vlogging because I have a fun, new camera & I missed it! Rejoin me on my adventures by coming with us to the Abbey Medieval Festival, located in Caboolture (just north of Brisbane). It's essentially a renaissance faire but a little bit stricter than many of the ones held in the USA. It's specifically dedicated to the medieval period (600 to 1600AD) so they do not allow any fantasy based stalls or encampments, but they allow visitors to dress however they like, thankfully! I went for the full weekend with my mum & sister which was very fun though very wet as it rained a lot. But it added an extra layer of authenticity! We got to do some workshops, listen to talks at encampments, see a joust, pay some hounds, watch a buhurt (knights having a skirmish) & I even entered the costume comp! I did not win but it was still fun to do. On Saturday I dressed up as my usual jester character (based heavily on Fool from Robin Hobb books) & a generic hobbit on the Sunday which was much comfier.
