Introduction to Hadith with Dr. Joshua Little

I'm grateful to have on Dr. Joshua Little (DPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford) to discuss Ḥadīth. What are Ḥadīth? Are Ḥadīth reports different from sīrah/maḡāzī reports and historical reports? If so, how? How is the development and authenticity of Ḥadīth impacted by sectarianism and geography? How did Muslim scholars go about authenticating a Ḥadīth? What is the range of opinions with regard to the reliability of Ḥadīth among modern scholars? What is the Isnād-Cum-Matn Analysis (ICMA) and how can we use it? Is it possible to identify "authentic content" in Ḥadīth? If so, what are some examples?
