Simon discovered photogrammetry in 2014 when he turned his camera to documenting underwater shipwrecks and aircraft crash sites in the English Channel. Since then his work has been used by English Heritage, National Geographic, The Discovery Channel and UNESCO. Simon founded Deep3D in 2016 and is the UK dealer for both Agisoft and UWIS underwater GPS products. In 2020 Simon won a tender to introduce photogrammetry to the discipline of forensic crash investigation to a UK Police Force. In 2020 Simon won the Royal Photographic Society Science Photographer of the Year award for his orthophoto of the SS Thistlegorm. Simon is Accupixel’s Managing Director. .
