DESCRIPTION: 🔥 Grit Your Teeth — inspired by Kyojuro Rengoku. “Grit Your Teeth” was one of my earlier character-inspired songs, but even though I always believed in the lyrics and their message, the original version never felt like it fully captured Rengoku’s essence in the way I wanted it to. Rengoku was not defined by fire alone. What makes him so inspiring is the sense of duty behind his strength, the warmth he gave to others, and his willingness to stand between innocent lives and certain death without hesitation. His title was never a symbol of fame or superiority. It was a responsibility he carried with pride. He understood that strength is inherited, developed through sacrifice, and eventually passed on to those who continue walking after us. That is why I returned to this song. I rebuilt the experience around the same lyrics and reimagined it as a full AMV, allowing Rengoku’s actions, convictions, and final battle to carry the emotional weight the song was always meant to have. “Grit Your Teeth” is about standing firm when the pain becomes unbearable. It is about protecting those behind you, passing your flame into worthy hands, and accepting that a life lived for others can continue burning long after it ends.
