With construction now surpassing the 90% completion milestone, this US$129 million state-of-the-art multi-sport complex is rapidly taking shape as Uganda prepares for AFCON 2027. Built to international standards, the 20,000-seat stadium will serve as a standby venue for the tournament while becoming a major center for sports development in Northern Uganda. Join us as we explore every stage of this engineering masterpiece, including: Massive earthworks, geotechnical investigations, and deep foundation construction. Reinforced concrete grandstands, tiered seating structures, and the impressive superstructure. Installation of the giant steel space-truss roof system and weather-resistant roofing membranes. Modern football pitch construction featuring advanced underground drainage, engineered rootzone layers, and professional turf installation. Beautiful architectural façade works, aluminum cladding, ventilation systems, and the stadium's modern exterior design. Interior finishes including VIP lounges, dressing rooms, media facilities, referee areas, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations. Installation of high-quality spectator seating and advanced crowd management systems. High-security perimeter fencing, automated access gates, and modern turnstile systems. Newly upgraded access roads, pedestrian walkways, parking areas, and surrounding civil infrastructure. Outdoor training courts for basketball, volleyball, netball, and tennis, alongside a professional warm-up football pitch.
