My family then migrated to NY from the UK in the late 60's. In the early 70's during NYC busing hey dey.. I was sent to Jamaica to attend school. The Summer of my 7th year .. I landed on de ROCK!!! I soaked up EVERY TING!!! Dem sey me did chat woserer den dem one dem wah dey de bawn dey!!! DWL I attended a few schools - 2 terms at St Theresa Prep in Vineyard Town, Kingston 3, 1 term at Tredegar Park All Age (just down from Little Greendale/Thompson Pen, 3 years at St Catherine Primary and 1 year at St Jago High in Spanish Town .. (I spent 5 years in St Catherine) then on to Bishop Gibson High School for Girls in Mandeville, Manchester in what would be its last year of boarding at that time. The steady immersion of this language on THIS island LAND OF WOOD AND WATA was absolutely LIFE CHANGING ... I only returned to the US twice during the journey from 7 to nearly 14. This was clearly the foundation of who you experience today as I am now in my 61st year.
