John Bermingham talks about his forestry journey
Nestled at the end of a quiet boreen in the foothills of Sliabh na mBán, John Bermingham shares the remarkable story of his family's 100-acre farm in Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary. The farm his grandparents bought in 1922 has been transformed into tourist accommodation, woodland walks, and a thriving forestry operation. John takes us through his journey - from reluctant dairy farmer, to selling his best cow to buy a guitar, to finding a sustainable future in trees. Now, over 20 years on, the forest that started on marginal land has become both a commercial enterprise and a deeply personal legacy. Watch as John and his son Shaunie bring it all together with a live performance of his song about the cow that became a guitar. gov.ie/forestrybooklet
