Sibu is the third largest city in Sarawak, Malaysia, located on the banks of the Rajang River, Malaysia's longest river. In 1900, Huang Nai-shang, a Fuzhou overseas Chinese, brought a large number of Fuzhou people to reclaim the land, resulting in a large Fuzhou Chinese population, hence the nickname "Little Fuzhou." Sibu is renowned for its thriving shipbuilding and timber processing industries, with its ships exported worldwide.
