FYIC 2026 Days 1–4 | Combined Fragments Tile | Zentangle Practice

Welcome to my FYIC 2026 - Days 1–4 Combined Fragments tile 🎨 In this video, I’m bringing together the first four fragments from the Fragment of Your Imagination Challenge 2026 onto a single regular Zentangle tile. For these combined tiles, I’ve created a number of custom reticula designed to hold: a square fragment a circular fragment a triangular fragment a seed-shaped fragment For this tile, I selected one reticulum at random and used it to bring together the fragments from Days 1–4 into a single, cohesive composition. This is a lovely way to see how very different fragments can sit alongside one another while still feeling balanced. 🧩 The fragments used in this tile: Day 1 – Auragin Used as a square fragment, exploring rotation and repetition to create a subtle meta pattern. Day 2 – Schlingl by Ela Rieger A circular fragment, explored at varying scales to show that fragments don’t all need to be the same size. Sometimes you’re simply giving an idea of a fragment rather than drawing it in full. Day 3 – GTM8 by Gildo Sobrino A triangular fragment, reversed and mirrored within triangles of different sizes to explore movement and variation, even on a small tile. Day 4 – Zart by Sonja Richei The first seed-shaped fragment of the challenge, incorporating teardrop shapes and mirrored fescu shapes. I developed this fragment in a way that naturally lends itself to a floral-style form. Bringing these fragments together highlights how different shapes, scales and orientations can coexist within one composition, while still allowing each fragment to retain its own character.
