Nuestra Señora del Carmen - Update 9/6/2021

Our Nuestra Señora del Carmen cutting was purchased from Gardencrochet and grafted onto DFIC0023 Palmata Hybrid on 1/25/2021 and has grown vigorously for us. It was planted in the ground on 8/9/2021, exactly four weeks ago. We did a prior video on a fruit that ripened shortly after planting but this fruit is much more representative as it has now been growing in full sun for four weeks. This fruit was perfectly ripe and I considered it to be an outstanding fruit. The fruit was moderately sweet with a very nice blend of figgy and berry flavor and a nice syrupy texture and soft but not delicate skin. We tipped our tree a few weeks ago in hopes it will start branching out. We look forward to many more fruits from our tree next year.
