LeelaKnightOdds's Jobava-London Dominates Grandmaster in 28 Moves
Featured is an intriguing chess game between LeelaKnightOdds and Awonder Liang (A-Liang on lichess). Playing White without a king knight, LeelaKnightOdds pushes back against Liang’s early plan to develop the light-squared bishop outside the pawn chain with 6.f3, followed by a kingside space grab with g4. Notice how Leela’s light-squared bishop development is delayed and remains home, anticipating a black knight’s jump to c4, ready to capture it while spending just a single tempo. Once Leela chases Liang’s knight to h5, the position becomes increasingly uncomfortable for Black, especially after Rg8. From there, Leela’s unopposed dark-squared bishop completely dominates the misplaced knight. The final position says it all, with Liang’s knight merely existing, but not living! #LeelaKnightOdds #ChessAI I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8.
