God is pleased with you | June 25, 2026

There's a voice that wants you to believe God is disappointed in you — that you've fallen short, failed too many times, or haven't done enough to earn His favor. Today, I want to speak directly to that lie. In Matthew 3, when Jesus was baptized, the Father's voice came from heaven with two declarations: "This is my beloved Son" — and — "in whom I am well pleased." What strikes me is that Jesus had barely begun His public ministry. And yet the Father was already well pleased. That tells us something profound about how God measures us — not by our performance, but by His mercy and the finished work of His Son. Because of Christ, you stand in the favor of God. When the Father looks at you, He doesn't see your failures or your unfinished edges. He sees His beloved child — and He is well pleased. If you don't anchor yourself in that truth, you'll remain vulnerable to the voice of the accuser, who will always have a list of reasons why you don't measure up. I also want to speak to parents, grandparents, and anyone in a position of influence: say these words to the people in your life. Tell them they are beloved. Tell them you are well pleased in them. Those words carry weight — and they reflect the very heart of the Father toward all of us.
