Airway Pressure Release Ventilation
ICU ventilator settings were something I used to struggle with. Even keeping the names straight were tough for me sometimes, but I think I finally straightened them out! In this video we take a quick look at Airway Pressure Release Ventilation, more commonly known as APRV. Now this is not the most commonly used ventilation setting, but it has a different way of working, and can sometimes be used with ARDS. We take a look at what this vent setting actually does for the patient, what we dial in and what we get out.
