How to rig a cave for basic SRT and caving knots
Rigging for SRT ( single rope technique ) figure of 8 tutorial, alpine butter fly, bunny ears After watching the video myself I just want to clarify some points I was trying to convey as I was quite scatter gun. 1) I first look at the bunny ears, used to rig when two anchor points are at the same height ** it’s important not to use bunny ears when the anchors are not level as all the weight sits on the higher bolt and a failure would shock load the lower bolt possibly causing the lower bolt to come out also ** 2) the purpose of the “y hang” (the figure of 8 and alpine butterfly combined across two bolts) is to evenly spread the load of the rope across both bolts in a situation where they are not level with one another. 3) when rigging onto a scaffolding bar if you decided to tie onto an addition anchor such as a tree you would need to tie onto the tree first and then tie onto the scaffold bar mid way along the rope this would require a different set up which I will cover in another video
