I am fully aware that not all details of the rolling stock are listed. Yes, I may be able to figure out what they are using info from the other rolling stock, but I'd rather not say anything than potentially list out incorrect information. All information was obtained from Wikipedia, so there is bound to be something incorrect in here. Q-Train and S-Train The URL K-Train and C-Train both have gear ratios of 101:14. I'm guessing the Q-Train and S-Train both have the same gear ratio. LRT rolling stock Phase 1 and 2 both have gear ratios of 50:9, which means Phases 3-5 are also likely to have the same gear ratio as their predecessors. 2. Arrival videos were recorded at the motor car closest to the end of the trains, while departure videos were recorded at the motor car closest to the front of the trains (except for the retired trains, as they were recorded before I had this idea, as well as the LRT trains because I couldn't be bothered to run back and forth along the platform), which is why you see me at cars 1 / 8 for the Ad-CAF-Train and cars 2 / 7 for the K-Train. 3. One issue about the M-Trains: All trains are basically a mix and match of different stock cars (for example, a train could have, CT, G and H Stock cars all at once, or be entirely formed of one stock of cars), so yeah. I only took into account the stock of the final 2 (arrival) and first 2 (departure) cars when it came to the M-Trains. 4. You may have noticed that not all videos were recorded at overground sections of the MTR. This is due to a number of reasons, such as excessive noise from the surroundings (thank you kwun tong line above ground stations) or even from the train themselves (what are the tcl train vents made of?) drowning out the motor sounds. Luckily, the M-Trains, which I'm pretty sure are notorious for being loud, drowned out all other noises, so recording those were pretty easy. On the other hand, believe me, I tried with the C-Trains and Q-Trains, but I couldn't get any noise clearer than what you heard in this video. I also had to take into account how much the trains accelerated and decelerated when leaving and arriving at the station. At some stations, the trains stop accelerating before they've even left the station, causing the motor sounds to stop early, while at some others, they're moving at a slow enough speed that they can coast through the station for a while before decelerating to a stop. 5. You may notice inconsistencies in the motor noises. This is due to intermediate trailer cars which do not have motors :( 6. Door closing for the SP1900 and 1141A were not included because the idling time between door closing and departure on the Tuen Ma Line is frickin ridiculous, like 10-12 seconds. *If you have any knowledge related to the rolling stock (e.g. gear ratio, motor type) not included in this video, don't hesitate to tell me in the comments.
