EL ARZOBISPO GARCÍA CUERVA PIDIÓ UNA DIRIGENCIA QUE SE ANIME AL DIÁLOGO

During the traditional Te Deum at the Metropolitan Cathedral on May 25th, the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge García Cuerva, delivered a strong message to political leaders, asserting that “what is lacking is a leadership class that is willing to engage in dialogue, encounter, and reconciliation.” The homily was attended by President Javier Milei, members of the national Cabinet, and Buenos Aires city officials, as part of the 216th anniversary of the May Revolution. In his message, García Cuerva called for building consensus with the most vulnerable sectors of society in mind and criticized confrontational rhetoric: “Stop inciting division and polarization because no one is saved alone,” he declared. He also called for “disarming the language” and criticized the use of insults and denigration in public discourse and on social media. He also addressed the country's social and economic situation, making reference to senior citizens, young people, informal workers, and families affected by the crisis.
