RV LIFE | We camped at the SHIPSHEWANA FLEA MARKET | S1E5

It's common knowledge that most RVs are born in Elkhart, Indiana. Not far from there is what feels like the heart of Amish country, Shipshewana, Indiana. Those in the know just call it Shipshe. And there in Shipshe is the Shipshewana Flea Market, what some say is the largest flea market in the U.S. And, right there on the Shipshe Flea Market grounds is the Shipshewana Flea Market RV Campground. We had a family reunion at the Farmstead Inn, which is directly across from the flea market, so grabbed a spot for the week. It was a wonderful place. There was a Keystone meetup there and, with the exception of a caravan of twenty trucks leaving in single file every morning to do something that apparently needed to be done quickly enough that it was worth racing through the campground at 20mph which seemed like 40 (haha), the place was quiet and the neighbors were a delight. We TOTALLY RECOMMEND this campground. We walked the flea market of course. But we also visited other Amish things, like Das Dutchman Essenhaus that friends of ours own, and the Blue Gate Restaurant that other friends of ours own, E&S Sales (their "Great Nuts" are so much better than Grape Nuts), and the Yoder's Department Store where we may or may not have bought us some cowboy hats. Also, an honorable mention goes to Ben's Pretzels, even thought it's not Amish, per se. Gotta try the Hawaiian Pretzel! Then we headed back to Berlin, Ohio for a week, which sounds weird, but we had a reason to do it. Amish Country is fun in an RV! And we feel honored that you are enjoying it with us!
