From Dull to Bright! | Wind Spinner Restoration

I have been a camping girl all my life! Part of making a campsite yours is having decorations that make you happy! This wind spinner was part of my camping experience for about two years before the paint faded. Unfortunately, the vibrant colors that were once there faded to boring shades of their former ones. Additionally, it had never spun in the wind as it should, so I hoped to fix that. I had this project in the back of my mind for a while before my mom asked me to repaint it! I was so excited to take on this project! I knew I could make this better! Fortunately, I was able to go straight into painting. No major prep work was needed! I learned very quickly that a white base coat was necessary, so one side has a base coat while the other does not. Luckily, they didn’t turn out to be noticeably different from each other. The main difference was the amount of paint needed to get good coverage! Once I finished the front of each side, I painted the back black to give it a clean look. It looked awesome! Of course, my dad helped me with the clear coat (I just knew I’d make a mess with the spray paint), so that turned out nicely. He also worked on the bearing to make it spin easier, so we’re hoping it will spin in the wind now! This wind spinner is sentimental, and restored with love! I hope you enjoy watching this restoration! I love restoring things!
