In another ride from the list of super-tough trails, today we tackled a route that only existed in Romeu Gigante's memory. He had already done this route a while ago and suggested I create a tracklog to see its feasibility. I went to Strava and created a route connecting the Cordilleras to the bottom of the hill at the Viver e Aprender cycling school. The tracklog already showed it was going to be tough, as it was showing more than 2,000 meters of elevation gain in just over 60 km. We decided to invite some more friends because, after all, a big challenge is only fun – and with more people. And so Sinara, Betto, and Neilton came. Everything was arranged, at 8 am we left from the Moxé Power Plant, climbed Delirio and headed towards Casa de Pedra. After the second yellow gate, we entered the ridges of the wild mountains again, where no cyclist has passed for a long time. The view makes up for all the sacrifice. At the fork in the road to Antigo Delirio or Cordilheiras, our friends got a taste of wild cycling in the Fercalps mountains and turned back. Romeu and I continued to climb the Cordilheiras and explored the tracklog trail. Imagine a really tough ride!!! There were a bunch more very difficult climbs, two of them as gigantic as the Cordilheiras. I was exhausted. We ran out of water, food, strength and courage, and we were still back at the school in the middle of nowhere at 3:15 pm. Getting back to Moxé was a saga, but at 5:43 pm, we arrived back at the car safe and sound. A whole day of cycling. Tired, but with explorer energy 110% replenished.
