2014 08 22 - Áncash, San Luis - Primer Concurso de Negocios Rurales Inclusivos Haku Wiñay (HD)

FONCODES—a national program of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion—is funding investments of 3,056,316 soles in the districts of San Luis and Yungay, in the Áncash region, through projects focused on developing productive capacities, economic ventures, and economic infrastructure for highly vulnerable rural households. In San Luis, in the Carlos Fermín Fitzcarrald province, FONCODES is implementing the Haku Wiñay project, strengthening family production systems, promoting and financing small business plans, improving homes to make them healthier, and developing financial literacy in 368 beneficiary households. These activities are taking place in the communities of Caninaco, Canchabamba, Salapampa, Mallquibamba, Collota, Ranracancha, and Espadín, with the families themselves playing a leading role and the participation of the local government.
