Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced a massive retaliatory strike, claiming to have targeted four major U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain using a wave of ballistic missiles and drones. While Tehran claims direct hits, the Pentagon and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) have yet to officially verify the extent of the damage. According to a formal statement broadcast by Iran's state media, the IRGC’s Naval and Aerospace forces launched a synchronized joint operation. The targeted installations include Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, alongside Juffair and the strategic U.S. Fifth Fleet Headquarters at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The IRGC called this the "first phase of a punitive response" following consecutive nights of heavy U.S. airstrikes that hit roughly 90 targets across southern Iran—including infrastructure links in the north and an aerospace facility in Bushehr. Tehran has warned that any further American actions will expand the conflict to other bases across the region.
