Lake Lucerne (German: Vierwaldstättersee, lit. "Four Forest Settlements Lake“), is a lake in central Switzerland. Gersau is a self-contained area embedded on the sunny and sheltered Rigisüdhang slope, protected by the Rigi and the Hochfluh Gersauerstock in the north and Lake Lucerne in the south against cool winds. Therefore has a particularly mild climate in which to thrive even chestnuts can be found. Gersau is in the region known as the Riviera of Lake Lucerne. it is above the village between 1000-1550 m above sea level. the Gersau Mountains offer great views of the Alps and Lake Lucerne.
