Tracking strong storms, heavy rain moving across Tampa Bay
The 10 Tampa Bay weather team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for Tuesday and Wednesday due to rounds of heavy rain. Tropical moisture returns to the area with rounds of heavy rain over the next few days. A weak area of low pressure will drop down into northern Florida today and into Wednesday morning, bringing tropical moisture with it. Things start quietly, but plenty of lift develops this morning for the Nature Coast with increasing showers and thunderstorms by mid to late morning. This activity will build and expand and move into Tampa by lunchtime. Showers and storms will be widespread by late afternoon and evening with a flood threat and a few strong to severe thunderstorms. Things will settle down by 8 p.m. Over the next couple of days, 1 to 3" of rain on average can be expected for Tampa Bay, with 3-5" for the Nature Coast. There will be isolated pockets of heavier amounts, especially north of the I-4 corridor. https://www.wtsp.com/article/weather/...
