Harry Elston, the founder of The Friends of Distinction

The Friends of Distinction were founded during 1968 in Los Angeles by Harry Elston and Floyd Butler. They brought in Jessica Cleaves and Barbara Jean Love. Harry and Floyd had been singing together in The Hi-Fi's during the mid 1960s. They toured with and opened for Ray Charles. Marilyn McCoo and Lamont McLemore sang with Harry and Floyd in The Hi-Fis. The group split up and McLemore established The Fifth Dimension. Harry Elston tells Tom about his career and the history of The Friends of Distinction. Contact Tom: [email protected] www.TomMeros.com
