A mini pond for the patio is quick to build and suitable for any sunny to partially shaded location. For our mini pond, we chose a large glazed ceramic pot without drainage holes. It's planted with a dwarf water lily, a yellow water iris, and exotic floating ferns. You can create different levels by placing stones under the plant pots. For planting the baskets, we use heavy pond soil that doesn't float. This water feature also provides a valuable drinking opportunity for birds and insects on hot days. Have fun building your own!
