For centuries, a festival known as Khal Gağan has been celebrated in Dersim, marking the end of the old year and welcoming the new. This festival, an ancient Alevi tradition, aims to foster solidarity and sharing. The most important and widespread practice of the Gağan month is the game known as "khalkek" or "khalık u fatık." At its core are three figures representing the past and the future. This year, the arrival of the new year was celebrated in Dersim with a Gağan event at the city center.
