ANOTHER LOOK AT THE iOPTRON HAZ46 STRAIN WAVE MOUNT
The iOptron HAZ 46 telescope mount is an alt az strain wave mount that only weighs 12 pounds but iOptron says can hold 44 pounds of payload. It's lightweight, doesn't require counterweigths, doesn't need to be polar aligned, and has an internal battery that can run for 10 hours. But is it accurate in locating objects in the night sky? At first I tried it on a carbon fiber tripod and wasn't happy with the accuracy. But in this video I tried it again on a stainless steel tripod, the LiteRoc Tripod made by iOptron and by using various techniques I describe in this video I was able to get the mount to be very accurate in locating objects and had a lot of fun with this mount. And now I have a better opinion of it. You can buy this mount here: https://www.ioptron.com/product-p/hz4...
