Spruce Lake-A Hidden Beauty-Fern Falls Too-Rocky Mountain National Park-Spring Hike

On June 7, 2025 We hiked to Spruce Lake from the Fern Lake Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. We saw Fern Falls along the way and she was really flowing. This trail is mostly through the burn scar from the East Troublesome Fire that began October 14, 2020. Spruce Lake was untouched and remains in great condition. A beautiful and peaceful lake to enjoy. The last half of the Spruce Lake trail was tangled with some downed trees and flooded areas. We managed to not get our feet wet. Some snow humps closer to the lake. I advise you to have a GPS to navigate the last portion of this trail. Lots of wildflowers throughout the hike. 8 miles and 1750 feet of elevation gain.
