Dollywood Express 70: Smoky Mountain Christmas 2022 (part 2)

This video is part two of my “Smoky Mountain Christmas” Dollywood express railfanning video. The train featured in this video is Dollywood Express (formerly White Pass & Yukon railroad) steam locomotive #70. 70 is a narrow gauge 2-8-2 “mikado” locomotive built in 1938 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, for service on the White Pass and Yukon Route railroad in Skagway, Alaska. 70 is one of two surviving members of its class (Baldwin standard design 12-28 1/4e). WP&YR 70 now works with its sister engine 192 at Dollywood, ferrying passengers up and down the mountain. Train crews regularly swap out the whistles of the locomotives. On this trip, 70 was wearing a valveless Crosby 6” 3 chime flat-top whistle from Washington & Lincolnton Railroad 206. *I do not own or intend to claim any names, songs, or intellectual properties featured in this video as my own.
