DISCUSSION | Case against two doctors charged for botched surgeries

Two medical doctors appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court today for allegedly performing botched surgeries on children, resulting in fatalities. They were released on bail. Professor Peter Beale, a pediatric surgeon, and Dr. Abdullhay Munshi, an anesthetist, are accused of culpable homicide and have been suspended by the Netcare group that employed them. An investigation is to be carried out by the Health Professions Council.
