While broken relationships may feel inevitable, God has always intended His people to live in unity, reflecting His love to one another. John gives us three reminders: • The Root of Offense is Sin • Love by Laying Down Your Life • Overcome Offense by Keeping His Commandments The cross reminds us that while we were still sinners, Christ made every effort to reconcile us to Himself. Because we have first received His grace, we are now empowered by the Holy Spirit to extend that same grace to others. May we not allow offense to keep us from drawing near to God or from loving the people He has placed around us.
