Our main goal is to reach the summit of Lackowa (997 m), the highest peak of the Polish part of the Low Beskids, via one of the most challenging and fascinating hiking trails in the region. We begin our hike near the picturesque village of Izby. The trail leads us through the mysterious Bały Kamień — a place full of history and unique rock formations wrapped in local legends. From there, we head towards Ostry Wierch, where the path becomes more demanding, but the reward comes in the form of spectacular views of the nearby valleys and surrounding mountain ranges. During our adventure in the Low Beskids, we talk not only about the tourist attractions of the area but also about its rich history, culture, and nature. You’ll learn interesting facts about local flora and fauna, the Lemko people who once lived here, and the dramatic events of World War I that left their mark in the form of abandoned villages and war cemeteries. At the top of Lackowa, breathtaking panoramic views await, showcasing the wild and still little-known side of the Low Beskids. We also share tips on how to best prepare for such a trek, what to pack, how to plan your route, and what other attractions are worth visiting nearby. At the end of the video, as always, we recommend great free overnight camper spots.
