Over the years Marilyn went from being the airhead who crashed a yacht into Alf's dinghy, to a colleague, close friend, and surrogate daughter. Marilyn left the Bay in 1992 to marry a man she hardly knew, and Alf was so concerned that she was making a mistake, that he found it difficult to give his support.
