Banten Province currently has a Grand Forest Park (TAHURA) named TAHURA Banten with an area of ​​±1,595.9 Ha according to the Decree of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number: SK.221/Menhut-II/2012 dated May 4, 2012 concerning Changes in Function between the Main Functions of Limited Production Forest Areas covering an area of ​​±833 Ha, and Permanent Production Forests covering an area of ​​±662 Ha as well as changes in function in the main function of Carita Nature Tourism Park covering an area of ​​±95 Ha to a Conservation Forest Area with the function of a Grand Forest Park covering an area of ​​±1,950 Ha located in the Aseupan Mountain Forest group, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province with the name Banten Grand Forest Park (TAHURA). Furthermore, based on Decree of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia No. SK.3108/Menhut-VII/KUH/2014 dated April 25, 2014, concerning the Establishment of the Banten Grand Forest Park Conservation Area, covering 1,595.90 (one thousand five hundred ninety five and ninety percent) hectares in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, the definitive area of ​​the Banten Tahura area is 1,595.90 hectares. The establishment of the Tahura in Banten Province aims to enhance the forest's function as a nature conservation area and increase the proportion of protected areas for environmental balance. With the establishment of the Tahura in Banten Province, it is hoped that the nature conservation function will align with increased economic added value for the community in the form of developing nature tourism, education, and supporting cultivation activities. The Grand Forest Park (Tahura), located in the Carita area, Pandeglang Regency, is one of Banten Province's assets. As a nature conservation area, the Tahura is utilized as a medium for education, research, and scientific development. Furthermore, this area also functions as a tourist destination for the public to enjoy. As a tourist destination, Tahura (Nature Park) is now visited by many local and international tourists. This high number of visitors has raised concerns about pollution and exploitation of this nature conservation area. Tahura is a natural conservation area with potential biodiversity, including collections of plants and animals, both natural and non-natural, native and non-native, to be utilized for research, science, education, cultivation support, culture, tourism, and recreation. Tahura, located in Pandeglang Regency, is a tropical forest located in the lowlands and adjacent to the sea, thus boasting distinctive flora and fauna.
