The Temple of Nefertari in Abu Simbel is one of the most beautiful Egyptian temples carved into the rock. It was established by King Ramses II, to perpetuate the memory of his wife, Nefertari, and to worship the idol, Hathor. The temple is located 150 meters south of the Great Temple of Abu Simbel, and its façade consists of 6 columns, 4 of which represent Ramesses II, and two represent his wife, "Nefertari." Between the legs of the statues are small statues of the sons and daughters of Ramesses II and Nefertari. One of the most famous expressions of love that Ramesses mentioned to his beloved wife, Nefertari, is that phrase to the one for whom the sun rises. This temple was carved in the rocks of the mountain, which the ancient Egyptians called "the pure mountain" or "the northern mountain".
