How to Turn Western Stirrups with a Nevada Twist
This is a full video of how to wrap western stirrups with a Nevada twist (Arizona twist, cowboy twist) in order to keep the stirrups staying open. Riders may want their stirrups to stay open in order to save their knees from strain or to more easily get their foot back in the stirrup if they happen to lose a stirrup. This is the third time I have wrapped a Nevada twist to western stirrups. I have been using this blog article for reference. https://twistandwrap.blogspot.com/201... I am doing this on rough-out stirrups from the Teskey's sales barn. I have soaked the bottom portions in water before and did not find a noticeable difference in coloring when dried. I oiled these stirrups previously as well. When I oil leather, I do oil the whole piece, as that may cause miscoloring. Proceed at your own discretion.
