Every ride feels like it could be Eve’s last. After leaving Penang, I set out for Ipoh on my electric motorcycle — still running on a broken motor. On the island roads, the squeaks came back. On the mountain twisties, Eve overheated again. And on the highways, I wasn’t even sure if motorcycles were allowed. Every kilometer feels like a gamble now. Malaysia has been full of friendly people and easy charging so far, but the truth is harsh: Eve might not survive much longer. With the Cameron Highlands ahead, I can already see the roads I want to ride — but I don’t know if this bike will make it there. 230 km today. A new city. A cheap Airbnb with parking.
